Feature Engineering for Map Matching of Low-Sampling-Rate GPS Trajectories in Road Network
نویسندگان
چکیده
Map matching of GPS trajectories from a sequence of noisy observations serves the purpose of recovering the original routes in a road network. In this work in progress, we attempt to share our experience of feature construction in a spatial database by reporting our ongoing experiment of feature extraction in Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) for map matching. Our preliminary results are obtained from real-world taxi GPS trajectories.

متن کاملA Global-Voting Map Matching Algorithm on the Base of Taxi GPS Data
Since the existing floating car map-matching algorithms lead to high error rate when GPS data sampling rate is low, we propose a global-voting map matching algorithm. Based on floating car GPS track data, the algorithm do not only consider the influence to matching process caused by the topological information of road network but also the different spatial distance of GPS track data. In this ma...
متن کاملEnhanced Map-Matching Algorithm with a Hidden Markov Model for Mobile Phone Positioning
Numerous map-matching techniques have been developed to improve positioning, using Global Positioning System (GPS) data and other sensors. However, most existing map-matching algorithms process GPS data with high sampling rates, to achieve a higher correct rate and strong universality. This paper introduces a novel map-matching algorithm based on a hidden Markov model (HMM) for GPS positioning ...
متن کاملAn effective Time-Aware Map Matching process for low sampling GPS data
In the era of the proliferation of Geo-Spatial Data, induced by the diffusion of GPS devices, the map matching problem still represents an important and valuable challenge. The process of associating a segment of the underlying road network to a GPS point gives us the chance to enrich raw data with the semantic layer provided by the roadmap, with all contextual information associated to it, e.g...
متن کاملAn Improved Map-Matching Technique Based on the Fréchet Distance Approach for Pedestrian Navigation Services
Wearable and smartphone technology innovations have propelled the growth of Pedestrian Navigation Services (PNS). PNS need a map-matching process to project a user's locations onto maps. Many map-matching techniques have been developed for vehicle navigation services. These techniques are inappropriate for PNS because pedestrians move, stop, and turn in different ways compared to vehicles. In a...
